Michael Lorenz is a proven leader in the homebuilding industry, with expertise honed over 30 years in the industry. His background has been acutely focused on property acquisition and land development, as well as strategic planning and team leadership, bringing a well-rounded skill-set to his role as President of National Properties & Development for The True Life Companies. In his role as President, Michael will help guide the acquisitions team in identifying sites consistent with the Company’s growth and expansion strategy, supporting its investment platform and implementing appropriate strategies for property sales to America’s top homebuilders.

Before joining TTLC, Scott served as President with Conner Homes Group in Washington, reporting to the Board of Directors, Michael maintained responsibility for profit and loss of three entities comprising the company organization: Conner Homes Group operating company, Conner Homes Realty and Conner Homes Warranty. Michael led strategic planning, acquisitions, design and development of the company culture, and implementation of major improvements in customer service and warranty. Several key initiatives launched during his tenure including accounting methodology improvements, electronic invoicing system integration,  implementation of a new CRM program, and launching the Eliant customer service survey system. Efforts undertaken under his guidance earned the Company an 88.9% year end homebuyer satisfaction rating. 

Prior to his role as President, Michael served as the Senior Vice President of Land Acquisition at the Conner Homes Group. In his capacity as SVP he secured the objectives of the company’s 3-year business plan by identifying, targeting and acquiring over 25 properties in a little over 3 years.  Michael has also held senior management positions in Acquisitions with DR Horton, Richmond American and Quadrant Homes (at the time a Weyerhaeuser company) with experience that spans both the Washington area and the Portland, Oregon, markets.  In addition, Michael operated as the sole owner of Lorenz Land Holdings, a local land development company and professional services firm, where he developed finished lots for sale to homebuilders in the local market for over four years.  Through his leadership in these companies he has helped over 10,000 new homeowners in the pacific northwest realize the dream of homeownership.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He has been affiliated with Vision House, a program for transitional housing to help homeless families with children and has supported several other organizations such as Northwest Harvest which focuses on food banks and meal programs, Wellspring Family Services dedicated to ending homelessness, and Washington Women in Need, an educational based organization that assists women for success in college and in their careers.  He has also acted as a mentor to students studying planning at his alma mater.
