Chad Scherer serves as Chief Financial Officer for The True Life Companies, and is the Chief Financial Officer of The True Life Companies Elite Fund III (“Elite Fund III”). He provides guidance and direction to The True Life Companies and its subsidiaries including but not limited to Elite Fund III. His strategic insights and commitment to financial excellence ensure that we maintain the highest standards in these crucial areas.
Mr. Scherer’s experience spans over 25 years, including 5 years at prominent accounting firm Deloitte & Touche. He later joined First Data Corporation in Denver, a $7.6B revenue electronic commerce and payment services company with international operations. Here he was responsible for SEC reporting functions, quarterly financial reports and presentations, investor relations presentations, and fielding analyst and investor inquiries. Mr. Scherer went on to join M.D.C. Holdings, Inc., Richmond American Homes, as Assistant Controller and then as Vice President/Corporate Controller. His responsibilities included strategic forecasting, planning, oversight of accounts payable, payroll, insurance accounting and compliance, consolidation and SEC reporting, IT-Finance operations and system support, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
More recently, Mr. Scherer served as Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller with MWH Global Inc., an engineering and construction services firm with program management and software business solutions. He managed a team of over 220 Finance & Accounting professionals across 10 countries, and was the Executive Team Leader for the sale of the company to Stantec through Bank of America. During his tenure, Mr. Scherer was responsible for implementing new processes that led to strengthen controls, drive disciplined growth, scale infrastructure for growth and create optimized shared services centers throughout the US and in India.
He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and he is an active CPA in the state of Colorado. Mr. Scherer is also a member of the Board of Directors, and Finance Committee Chairman and Treasurer for Providence Network.
