DENVER, CO (October 18, 2023) – The True Life Companies (TTLC), a national firm focused on creating attainable housing throughout the U.S., has announced the appointment of Michael Lorenz as Senior Vice President of National Properties. Mr. Lorenz will guide TTLC’s acquisitions team in identifying sites consistent with the Company’s growth and expansion strategy, support its investment platform, and implement strategies for property sales to America’s top homebuilders.
“Michael is a proven leader and a respected teammate across multiple disciplines within the homebuilding industry,” stated Scott Clark, Chairman and CEO of The True Life Companies. “His impressive 30-year background not only includes property acquisition and land development, but also strategic planning and leadership. His skillset is incredibly well-rounded, and we’re excited to have him join TTLC and take on this important role for our firm.”
Prior to joining TTLC, Mr. Lorenz served as President of Conner Homes Group in Washington, where he was responsible for maintaining P&L for the firm’s three corporate entities: Conner Homes Group Operating Company, Conner Homes Realty, and Conner Homes Warranty. While Senior Vice President, Mr. Lorenz identified, targeted, and acquired more than 25 properties within three years. Among his many significant contributions were accounting methodology improvements, conversion to an online design center for the home options program, the implementation of a new CRM program, and electronic invoicing system integration. Ultimately, the initiatives developed under his guidance earned the company a nearly 90% homebuyer rating. Mr. Lorenz also led in the design and development of Conner Homes Group’s corporate culture, a particularly impactful accomplishment.
“As TTLC continues to grow and expand throughout the United States, Michael’s experience will be instrumental not only in helping achieve our objectives for acquisitions and dispositions, but also for stewarding and upholding our Company’s corporate brand and vision across the country,” said Clark.
Mr. Lorenz’s impressive career background includes working for prominent homebuilders like DR Horton, Richmond American, and Quadrant Homes (at the time a Weyerhaeuser company), where he held senior management positions in acquisitions. For several years, he operated as the sole owner of Lorenz Land Holdings, where he developed finished lots for sale to local homebuilders. Mr. Lorenz is also a supporter of several philanthropic groups, including Northwest Harvest which focuses on food banks and meal programs, and Vision House, a program for transitional housing to help homeless families with children.
“TTLC’s growth trajectory is both impressive and inspiring,” said Lorenz. “I’m excited to join the team during such a pivotal phase in the Company’s history, and I look forward to contributing to the Property Team to help address challenges and market needs proactively so we can continue to make the most impact.”
Mr. Lorenz’s hire follows The True Life Companies’ recent tripling in size, which prompted the opening last year of its new downtown Denver headquarters to accommodate its larger workforce. As TTLC continues to expand, the firm recently opened new division offices in major metros across the United States, including Salt Lake City, Raleigh, Austin, and Bethesda.
