Andrew Talman serves as Assistant Controller with The True Life Companies, playing a key role in establishing and ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures. He ensures that financial records and reporting are accurate and timely, providing the necessary information to senior leadership for strategy, policy and operating decisions. He oversees all accounting, reporting, payroll and accounts payable, ensuring efficiency and accuracy, in addition to developing and managing effective internal controls and processes to maintain the integrity of financial records and safeguard assets of the organization.  With a solid accounting background over 18 years and across a variety of industries, Andrew brings a proven record and strong skills to The True Life accounting and finance team.

Andrew’s career began in  the CPA firm of Powell & Booth where he served as senior accountant. He then held the role of Senior Accountant in a retail and pharmaceutical marketing firm, before moving to Birla Carbon USA, manufacturer of Carbon Black where he conducted monthly forecasts, prepared month-end financial reports, reviewed general ledger account reconciliations and facilitated inter-company transactions with 16 manufacturing sites. More recently he held the role of Assistant Controller with AutoPlus, an auto parts retailer, leading the month-end closing process, implementing efficiency improvements that reduced their closing timeline from 15 to 5 days. He led development of Standard Operating Procedures for journal entries, and managed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency across financial operations.

His education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa and a Master of Science in Accounting from Strayer University. Andrew’s top personal interests include snow skiing, cooking, and he is in general an all-around sports fan.
